Living and Loving on Borrowed Belief & Time

Day 19

Thursday, January 20

Read:

“Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).

Devote:

Whatever we do, let’s not forget that we remain God’s exhibit here on earth. We serve as God’s evidence. We are God’s recommendation letter to be read. Paul writes to the Corinthian believers, “You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all; and you show that you are a letter of Christ, prepared by us written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts” (1Cor. 3:2-3).

Journal:

Write about the challenge of living and loving on borrowed time.

Reflect:

Who are you wasting your time waiting for them to change before you can love them unreservedly? Given the brevity of time in this life, what are you willing to change to live completely in every moment?

Pray:

Dear Father of all, and Father of the Prince of Peace: Give us grace to seriously lay to heart the great dangers we are in by unhappy divisions; cause us not to be hindered from godly union and concord, so we may  all of one heart and of one soul unite in the holy bond of truth. Amen.
