Living and Loving on Borrowed Belief & Time

Day 21

Saturday, January 22

Read:

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).

Devote:

To be sure, Paul is aware that his personal world is only as secure as the larger story; that is, the natural story, the social story, the cosmic story remains intact. Paul is aware that it is not just the story behind his letters that matters. It is the story behind the story that really matters. It is the story of the life of God in the person of the risen Christ. It is in that story that we find our assurance that all of our stories have purpose and redemption.

Journal:

Write on how this week's journaling has prepared you for the Sabbath liturgy that awaits you or that you have returned from.

Reflect:

Do we proceed into Sabbath worship when we walk into the sanctuary, or the foyer, or get out of our cars in the parking lot, or leave our homes for church…?

Pray:

Eternal God, draw our hearts to you, guide our minds, fill our imaginations, control our wills, that we may be wholly your children through our Lord Jesus. Amen.
